Postpartum Care

Postpartum is a time we as women need to be held in a safe, secure container that leaves us able to heal, connect to our baby, and rest. Many of us in the modern world do not have access to the support we need, and many women aren’t even aware of the depth of support and care that is essential and optimal for this sacred passage into motherhood.

In many of our ancient and indigenous cultures, the postpartum period is still revered as one that is sacred. It sees the community caring for new mothers, the reciprocal nature of this care is deeply nurturing, and healing to us in our modern individualistic culture.

Some ways I can support:

  • Live-in postpartum support

  • Cooking & preparing fresh, nutrient-dense meals for the family

  • Somatic support (massage, bodywork, binding, closing of the bones)

  • Daily tasks around the home

  • Planning & preparing for the postpartum

I offer a few services during the postpartum time, including in-person support and postpartum preparation (in-person and online). As these services are highly specific to your needs as a family, please get in touch, and we can meet to discuss how I can support you.

There are many ways we can support mommas in our local community, and I share some ideas here.

Mothering in community

You were never meant to go through the journey of motherhood alone, you were never meant to hold all the weight of raising children without a support network.
Healing happens in community, as women, many of us are searching for our village.
But it’s easier said than done at times. Here is where you can find that village.
